Our firm has been proud to support Buckingham & Stowe Running Club over the past several years. Club chairman, Chris Usher, told us that:
“We were recognised as “The Club of the Year” at Friday’s Bucks and MK Sports Awards. After nominations closed, only three clubs were short-listed to attend the ceremony on the 18th November. We were up against Marlow Tennis Club and Olney Rugby Club and it fell to our longest serving members, club secretary, Terry Penny and Beginners’ Run Leader, Jane Smith, to collect the plaque and certificate.
This much-coveted award is not easily come by, as we were up against every type of club (from athletics to tennis) in the whole of MK and Buckinghamshire (from Olney to Wycombe) and it puts us firmly on the map and in the company of much bigger, well-funded clubs than ourselves. Our success is down to the great efforts, not only of the committee, but of all those members who have made some contribution, however small, to our tremendous development over the past few years. It encompasses our philosophy of involving our members in everything we do.
So we should all feel proud to be part of our club, after all, it’s not everyone who can say they belong to The Club of the Year!”
