The UK Ministry of Justice has implemented an increase in court fees which will take effect next Monday, 21 March 2016. This increase will apply to all the court fees which are commonly used in family law cases:
The fee to divorce (or end a civil partnership) will increase from £410 to £550.
Contested applications in civil proceedings from £155 to £255 (this rise will not apply to extensions of injunctions for protection from harassment or violence)
General applications in civil proceedings from £50 to £100
If you cannot afford the fee, you may be eligible for a fee remission in full or in part. The leaflet How to apply for help with fees gives all the information you need.
